    Again, we would like to thank all of you who have continued to support the academy during this time. We started indoor classes on 06/13/20 along with the continuation of outdoor classes and the live / on demand Zoom classes. We would like to invite only those members who are healthy, showing no symptoms of illness and comfortable with returning to attend either the indoor or outdoor classes (behind the building). We will follow recommended procedures like taking the temperature of each member before they are allowed to start class. Face coverings are permitted. Hand sanitizer and cleaning of equipment will be provided. And of course keep social distancing in mind, etc. ....

  • VA Executive Order 53 requires temporary closures

    Dear KMNOVA Students, Yesterday, Virginia Governor Northam issued executive order 53 requiring all recreational and entertainment businesses to close temporarily. We stayed open as long as possible, but with this order we are forced to close effective immediately. With that said, we are asking for your continued support to keep the Academy operational. We are asking for your support and not to pause your membership so we have an academy to come back to.   • COVID 19 Update and Schedule Changes

    Hello, As you know, Governor Northam has issued an order stating all fitness facilities may not have more than 10 customers at a time. In compliance with his order and the Virginia State Health Commissioner we have capped the classes to a maximum of 10 students on a first come first serve basis. Also we have decided to reduce our schedule to the following classes: KM for Juniors, Strike Fit, All Level Krav Maga and an Open Mat (stretch/yoga, swing a kettle bell, do calisthenics, hit the heavy bag, etc.).     As you are all aware, the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has continued to become a growing concern. In an effort to keep both you and our Academy safe, we are taking the following precautions. As all of you know, our mats are sanitized every night, along with our common areas several times a day. We are also cleaning all equipment after each class. This is a really cool and professional place to train. You get physically fit quickly. Pete the Head Instructor takes it seriously that he's training you for real life situations in self defense and demands excellence. There are not short cuts here and he will let you know it. His instructors are equally insistent upon professional and detailed training and obviously he has taught them well. I have been training here for a year and a half in private training, fight class and regular classes and I am motivated to Excell as far as I can because of the quality of the instructors and their teaching methods. If you come in with a mindset of being the best you can be, then you will really enjoy it and learn something. It is very military and law enforcement friendly and reminds me of training in the US Marines--that's how good it is. Try it.

Been coming since beginning of Jan 2017. Great workout. Great training.  Like how instructors throw you right into fire. It's called real life everyone.  No previous experience necessary. Signed up for 18 month membership and definitely sticking with. 

Just recently changed from 4 to 5 stars because as you improve and move up in level, class sizes shrink dramatically. Facility size not an issue at that point.

What a great place to train.  All the instructors are really good and very helpful.  I have developed a lot of skills over the year that I hope I never have to use.  Also, I have made a lot of new friends.  Krav Maga is challenging, but I feel stronger after every class. Thanks for giving me my confidence back!
